The B.Sc. in Critical Care Technology is a 3 to 4-year undergraduate program that trains students to provide specialized care to critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments, and trauma centers. The course focuses on the use of advanced medical equipment and monitoring systems to support and manage patients with life-threatening conditions.
The curriculum covers subjects such as human anatomy and physiology, critical care medicine, pharmacology, microbiology, emergency procedures, and the operation of life-support systems like ventilators, defibrillators, and infusion pumps. Students also receive extensive clinical training in ICUs, where they learn to monitor vital signs, manage emergency equipment, assist doctors in advanced procedures, and ensure infection control.
Graduates can work as critical care technologists or ICU technicians in hospitals, trauma centers, and emergency care units. They play a vital role in saving lives by supporting doctors and nurses in the management of patients requiring intensive medical attention and continuous monitoring.
